West Ham set to finalise deal for Felipe Anderson

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, West Ham representatives are today in Rome to finalise the deal for Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.

As per a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham have already submitted an offer in the region of £33 million for Anderson.

However, the bid has been rejected by Lazio. But Anderson is keen on the move to London and to link up with West Ham’s new boss Manuel Pellegrini and it does appear that the Hammers have submitted a new deal for Anderson which has seemingly been more agreeable to the Lazio hierarchy.

And now with West Ham representatives in Rome today, Anderson could be a West Ham player sooner rather than later.

Felipe Anderson is a 25-year-old Brazilian attacker who is naturally a right midfielder. However, he can also play as a centre-forward, left winger and as a central attacking midfielder.

Anderson began his career in Brazil with Santos where he would play 68 games for their first team, scoring seven and assisting 13 in the process.

The Brazilian would then move to Serie A side Lazio in 2013 for a fee in the region of £6.75 million.

Since arriving in Italy Anderson has proven to be a top quality forward. The winger has played 177 games for Lazio in which he has scored 34 and assisted 42. He is a great dribbler of the ball and is very quick.

Anderson also helped guide Lazio to the Supercoppa Italiana in 2017 when they beat Italian giants Juventus 3-2.

Granted, Anderson did miss the start of this past season through injury. However, when he came back he made 32 appearances in all competitions scoring eight and assisting 10, while also helping Lazio finish 5th, narrowly missing out on a Champions League place by just goal difference.
