    West Ham provide explanation for Arnautovic absence vs Man United

    West Ham United have this evening confirmed why Marko Arnautovic is absent from the club’s squad to take on Manchester United.

    Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s hosts came into proceedings on a dismal recent run of form, which had seen the Red Devils fall to 4 defeats from their last 5 outings across all competitions.

    The latest of these came on Wednesday night, when La Liga champions Barcelona put United to the sword by a goal to nil in the first-leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs.

    West Ham, meanwhile, have also endured a hugely-underwhelming streak of late.

    Arnautovic misses out

    The hopes of Mauricio Pochettino’s men of turning things around at Old Trafford this evening, meanwhile, were dealt a blow ahead of kick-off, when the announcement of the Irons’ starting line-up saw Marko Arnautovic absent not only from his side’s XI, but from their matchday squad altogether:
