Unai Emery gives Danny Welbeck injury update

    A bad injury

When Danny Welbeck was taken off during Arsenal’s Europa League game, many people feared the worst.

It looked like a bad injury, and certainly looked painful.

Welbeck was taken off on a stretcher and had oxygen.

After being taken to hospital, it seems he has broken his ankle.

Manager Unai Emery noted it was a serious one.

“The worst news tonight are these injuries,” Sky Sports report Emery said.

“We think it’s a serious injury.

“Every injury is different. He broke something in his ankle and it’s a different injury than another.

“Now he’s at the hospital and the news is at the moment we are going to wait, but we think this is a serious injury.”

    Still unbeaten

Losing Welbeck is a blow to Arsenal and Emery.

After a difficult start to the season, things have been going well for the Gunners.

They’ve managed to stay unbeaten since their losses against Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Europa League group stages have been a breeze for them.

Now, Emery will want his players in top form for the game ahead of the international break.

It will of course be crucial for Arsenal to hope their players do not pick up any more injuries while away with their countries.
