Tottenham Hotspur bid for ‘Plan B’ to Manchester United’s Anthony Martial

Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a 25M euro bid for OGC Nice forward Alassane Pléa as they seek an alternative signing to Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, according to FootMercato’s Dahbia Hattabi.

Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add another forward to his squad this summer and is a very big admirer of Martial, however, United are proving extremely reluctant to lose the Frenchman to a Premier League rival.

With Manchester United placing a £75M price tag on Martial, Spurs are beginning to look elsewhere to strengthen their attack this summer.

Tottenham appear to have identified an alternative in OGC Nice’s Alassane Pléa and have made moves to ensure a deal is in place to bring the player to North London.

The forward’s versatility is likely to be the main attraction for Spurs, with Pochettino looking to sign a player who can play a number of different roles.

Last season, Pléa featured both centrally and on the left, scoring 21 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club.

However, FootMercato maintain that Martial remains Spurs’ number one transfer target this summer, despite news of an offer being made for an alternative.
