Tim Sherwood’s incredible comments on Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli

    Style

Tim Sherwood, the man who made the gilet trendy, has hit out at current Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli for his touchline fashion sense – and noted that short sleeves are simply not acceptable, and hit out at his tattoos as well for good measure.

It’s a shocking tirade from a former manager who wasn’t exactly known for his suited and booted look most of the time, but Sherwood clearly has a bee in his bonnet, and thinks that Sampaoli’s fashion sense is the reason Argentina were so poor and sloppy, not the fact that they didn’t take the likes of Mauro Icardi, and were stuck with Willy Caballero in goal.

He said: “If they’d won the game we’d say his appearance on the touchline doesn’t matter … [but] he is a manger of a national team, standing there with his t-shirt and tattoos all over him …

“I mean, listen, I might be old-fashioned, but I don’t think a manager should look like that.”

    Sacking

Tattoos and short sleeved t-shirts aside, the fact that Argentina have been so poor thus far at the World Cup was never going to bode well, and it seems they may be on the hunt for yet another manager.

Lionel Messi has been incredibly off the boil so far in Russia, and it seems that he will now almost certainly watch as Cristiano Ronaldo lifts the Ballon d’Or once again, and while there is still a chance for Argentina to get out of their group if results go their way, their form has been so poor that most top sides would fancy their chances against them in the knockout rounds.
