Thierry Henry labels Liverpool’s Firmino ‘most complete Premier League striker’

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry today became the latest pundit to reserve special praise for Liverpool star Roberto Firmino.

Firmino, a 26-year-old Brazilian international, has been on the books of Liverpool since arriving at the club in 2015 from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

After playing an important role for the Merseysiders over his first two seasons at Anfield, Firmino has taken his performances to another level altogether this season.

To this point in the campaign, the South American has racked up 27 goals and 17 assists in 53 outings for Liverpool, with the attacker’s fantastic attitude and non-stop work-rate having proven just as vital to the successes of Jurgen Klopp’s men as his creative and goalscoring abilities.

    ‘The most complete’

After including Firmino in his Premier League Team of the Season last month, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville lavished praise on Firmino as ‘just as important (to Liverpool) as (Player of the Year) Mohamed Salah’.

And Neville’s fellow Sky Sports representative, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, has since doubled down on the recent praise of the Liverpool hitman, going as far as to claim that the Brazilian is a more complete striker than any other currently plying their trade in the English top-flight:

‘His movement, his work-rate, the way he makes the two central defenders move to allow Mo Salah to make those runs,’ Henry gushed on Sky Sports.

‘Firmino is the most complete striker in the league.’

‘I’m not talking about the best finisher or the best work rate, I’m talking about all round. The most complete in the league.’
