Khartoum — The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Abdulrahman Dirar and Chairman of the Regional Center for Consultancy and Training has affirmed the importance of the Center in the indigenization of the maritime transport industry in Sudan and the development of human resources as a competitive advantage as well as the conduct of studies in accordance with the international requirements.
Dr. Dirar said, when he chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Regional Center for Consultancy and Training, in the presence of the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport of the League of Arab States Dr. Ismail Abdul- Ghaffar and his accompanying delegation, that the Regional Center for Consultancy and Training in the Red Sea was established in partnership between the Government of Sudan represented by the Sea Port Corporation and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport of the League of Arab States in the framework of understanding and desire in joint cooperation in the field of training and development of manpower in the maritime transport industry in Sudan and neighboring countries.
The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance pointed out that the Regional Center aimed at servicing Sea Port Corporation, the Port Society and the Sudan in general as well as the neighboring countries. He called on the Center to cooperate with the regional port federations, focus on the marketing plan and coordinate with the training councils, the Red Sea University and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the training program.
The meeting approved the performance report, the financial regulations, the statute and the vision of the marketing plan for the regional center and the features of the 2018 plan.
