Shocker for Man City: ‘Alexis Sanchez to Man United is a done deal’

‘Alexis Sanchez to Man United is done’

A huge rumour has set off alarm bells on social media on Saturday night.

Diego Martinez is a Spanish journalist who has relationships with AS, Marca and Mundo Deportivo.

He’s taken to social media to announce that Man United have won the race to sign Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

In what would be a blow for Man City, it’s claimed Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich and Arsenal agreed the deal with United on Saturday.

    Man United vs Man City

Should Alexis join United over City, it would be a huge PR win for Jose Mourinho.

It’s been widely reported for months that Sanchez is keen to work with Pep Guardiola.

Were United to beat City to the Chilean’s signature, that would again be a sign of the major pulling power which Mourinho and Man United still wield.

Of course, rumours on Friday night claimed that Man City were unwilling to pay Arsenal the money they were demanding for Alexis this January.

At the same time, Guardiola has revealed Gabriel Jesus could return to action within the next three weeks.

But is the Alexis Sanchez update true?

Put another way perhaps, can Diego Martinez be trusted?

For what it’s worth the journalist has defended his record for getting transfer rumours right on social media.

But why would a Spanish journalist be the person to break such a huge news story involving a Chilean star and two Premier League clubs?
