The Re-elect Buhari Movement (RBM) has announced, through its convener, Emmanuel Umohinyang, that it is winding up its operations following the successful re-election of the president.
The group thanked Nigerians for re-electing PresidentMuhammadu Buhari recently.
The organisation was founded as a volunteer support group with strong interest to work for the president’s re-election.
The Guardian reports that a statement by the group said it became important for it to wind up its operation since its objective had ended successfully.
“Sequel to the re-sounding victory of President Buhari, the existence of RBM has officially come to a close.
“It is no longer feasible to keep volunteers of the movement as a functioning group, hence the need to formally dissolve same.
“On behalf of President Buhari, I extend a warm appreciation to every member and wish them well in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
President Muhammadu Buhari says his victory at the polls is a clear demonstration of appreciation by the citizens for his commitment to a greater Nigeria.
The president stated this when he received a delegation comprising of Borgu people from Niger, Kebbi, Kwara and Kishi in Oyo state who were in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday, March 14 to felicitate with him on his re-election for another four-term in office.
President Buhari reiterated his administration’s determination to continue to provide infrastructure to all communities across the country to uplift the quality of life of all citizens.
He said such commitment would not only be sustained but enhanced in the next level as part of deliberate efforts to guarantee sustainable future for the citizenry as well as generations yet unborn.
The president, who noted the various requests from Borgu kingdom, assured the people of favourable response by government within the limits of available resources.
