Portugal star makes huge claim about Cristiano Ronaldo and World Cup

    Not shocking

Jose Fonte has made it very clear that Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup heroics should come as a shock to approximately no one, with the player showing time and time again that he’s the best in the world.

Fonte noted that it’s a great feeling for the Portugal players to have someone like Ronaldo in their side, and that he not only helps them take their game to a new level on the field, but that he also pushes them to be better in training as well.

Fonte, who of course played for West Ham and Southampton in the Premier League gushed about his teammate, and the Express report he said: “Cristiano is the best player in the world and it is not surprising he is doing what he is doing.

“He prepares for that and being Portuguese and having him in the team is just incredible. We know that we have him in the team and he is the major asset for us.

“We have to do our job at the back and he will do his up front. What’s it like in training against him? Tough!”

    The beard

Full back Cedric also weighed in, and spoke about the facial hair Ronaldo is now sporting.

While the player has come out and claimed it’s all part of a bet, many people have still made connections to Lionel Messi and the GOAT – given it seems that Ronaldo is on a one man mission to prove he is indeed the GOAT – and that this World Cup is his time to shine.

Cedric noted that lucky beards are something many players grow – something that has certainly been seen down the years – and that his is also for a similar reason.

The Express report he added: “It has nothing to do with Messi. It is just an option – maybe he wanted to have it like mine as I have one as well and maybe it is bringing him some luck.

“I hope he keeps it. Should we all grow lucky beards? Why not? If you look at our squad a lot of us have beards.

“I know why I have it – I started in England and now I do not want to take it off because it is bringing me/us some luck.”
