    Germany 2 – Sweden 1

    Never write off the Germans.

At halftime on Saturday night, Germany were starring a World Cup exit in the face.

After losing 1-0 to Mexico in their opener, the world champs fell 1-behind to Sweden after a superb goal from Ola Toivonen.

But Germany levelled minutes after the restart through Marco Reus. And in the final seconds of the game, Toni Kroos scored a brilliant free-kick to seal the amazing comeback.

    How Toni Kroos reacted

If truth be told, Toni Kroos had a below-par performance against Sweden.

The Real Madrid star was guilty for the Swedish goal, as he gave away possession in the build-up to Toivonen’s strike.

Kroos also misplaced several passes in the match as he look off the pace.

Yet, Kroos redeemed himself with his decisive goal in the final seconds. And after the game Kroos revealed his steel and mental fortitude in his post match interview.

Speaking on German TV after the Sweden game, Kroos accepted responsibility for the Sweden goal. But he also trumpeted the “balls” of the German side to comeback with the win.
