How Mauricio Pochettino reacted to being linked with Manchester United job

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is angry with reports suggesting he would leave for Manchester United without a second thought, according to the Times.

Just an hour prior to the club’s Carabao Cup semi-final win over Chelsea, he expressed his dissatisfaction to his background staff towards links over a move away.

However, the Argentine is still open to leaving for United or Real Madrid in the summer but would not leave without real consideration.

The Times have opened up on Pochettino’s thoughts over leaving Tottenham in the summer.

Firstly, it is understood that he is angry that his loyalty towards Spurs is being questioned.

He is adamant that leaving wouldn’t come with ease.

But ultimately the 46-year-old is loving the attention he is receiving from being linked with the world’s biggest clubs.

He is even trying to use the links to strengthen his position at Tottenham – who will do all means must to keep him.

Pochettino is especially keen to gain more power given that chairman Daniel Levy remains in charge of the club’s transfer policy.

The former Southampton manager holds genuine ambitions of winning league titles and European cups.

Whilst this is something he hopes to do with Spurs, he is unsure whether this is actually possible.

He is very happy in North London but is expected to consider Real Madrid and Manchester United’s offers in the summer.
