Heung-Min Son’s warning to Liverpool ahead of Champions League final

    Tottenham vs Liverpool

Tottenham will take on Liverpool on June 1st in the 2019 Champions League final.

It will be the first time an English club has lifted the trophy since Chelsea in 2012.

If Liverpool emerge victorious it will be the first time they have won the trophy since 2005.

Tottenham haven’t won the competition before and it is their first time in the final.

Son hoping to be on ‘fire’ vs Liverpool

To get to the final Spurs saw off Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16, Manchester City in the last eight and Ajax in the semi-final.

As for Jurgen Klopp’s men, they beat Bayern Munich in the last 16, FC Porto in the quarters and Barcelona in the last four.

Ahead of the final in  Madrid, Heung-Min Son has sent a message to Liverpool.

Son was in excellent form in both quarter-final legs, scoring three of Spurs four goals that they needed to beat Man City.

However, he was suspended for the first leg vs Ajax and didn’t provide a goal or assist in the second leg.

But Son is hoping to be back to his best and ‘in fire mode’ when facing Liverpool:

“I think everyone needs this time to rest.

“We’re trying to get as fit as possible, to make sure we give everything in this game.

“I am a really, really positive guy and it is one of the best feelings to be playing in the Champions League Final. So I just want to make sure that I am ready for every single ball and every single second.

“It is in three weeks, so everything is in our hands. I hope that I am in fire mode!”As quoted by the Evening Standard.
