Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar sends heartfelt message to Brazilian fans

No Oscar in the Brazil squad

Tite recently named his Brazil squad for The Seleção’s upcoming matches against Russia and Germany.

The 23 man shortlist included plenty of regulars such as Dani Alves, Marcelo and Philippe Coutinho as well as some shocks such as Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred and Besiktas’ Anderson Talisca.

Two players not on the list were PSG’s Neymar and Shanghai SIPG’s Oscar.

Neymar, the most expensive footballer on the planet was left out of the squad due to injury whereas Oscar was overlooked by coach Tite despite scoring 7 goals and registering 3 assists in 7 games thus far in 2018.

    Why was Oscar left out?

Oscar was definitely not left out of the squad due to the fact that he plays in China. Renato Augusto has been picked yet again for the Brazilian national team despite playing just 2 games so far this year. Augusto plays for Beijing Sinobo Guoan.

Tite chose Fred and Talisca over the former Chelsea midfielder despite the 26 year old’s great form in China.

Oscar’s response to being left out

When Oscar left Chelsea to move to China in January 2017, many people believed that he had ruined his career for the money.

Oscar last featured for Brazil back in November 2015 and hasn’t been in the squad since October 2016.

Many critics continue to get on Oscar’s back since his move to China as they believe that he has sacrificed trophies for money as well as his spot in the national team.

    Oscar stated:

“Some people are trying to denigrate my image with the Brazilian National Team saying that I don´t mind not being called to play.
Everyone knows how much I want to wear this shirt, so I am here to deny this whole situation.”

Does Oscar deserve to get back into the Brail squad?
