Demba Ba rinses Steven Gerrard before Liverpool vs Chelsea

    Demba Ba rinses Steven Gerrard

Prior to Sunday’s Liverpool vs Chelsea match at Anfield, the Sun have spoken to former Blues striker Demba Ba.

Ba scored a famous goal to deny Liverpool winning the league back in 2014.

Steven Gerrard’s slip remains a source of banter for rival football fans to this day.

So does Demba Ba ever feel bad for Stevie G for what happened to him that day? No, he definitely doesn’t:

I didn’t feel sorry for him. I’m not a Steven Gerrard supporter. I’m not a Liverpool supporter.

I’m not a Man City supporter or happy that they won the league. It’s all part of the game.

It’s the same as Crystal Palace last year when they were safe and had nothing to play for, they went and played at Stoke and sent them down by winning. You go and do your job, you go to win.

I would say he put the reserve team out. A lot of the players that started that day were not in the starting XI every week.

So we went out like this, but he still expected us to win.

Remembering that Chelsea goal at Liverpool

    Liverpool vs Chelsea

At the start of the day, Liverpool are first on 82 points while Man City are second on 80 points.

The Sky Blues have a game in hand over the Reds.

As for Chelsea they have battle on their hands to finish in the top four.

However a win today would lift Chelsea above Spurs into third place on 69 points.
