Deco makes massive claim about Cristiano Ronaldo and the World Cup

    Ronaldo

Deco has noted that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world – and that winning the World Cup will be a dream for him – and while he is one of the most talented players out there, and is certainly one of the fittest, it could be hard for him.

This could well be the last World Cup Ronaldo takes part in – or if he manages to make it another four years, his ability to impact a game will have decreased and it seems Deco thinks this may even be the case for Ronaldo this time round.

“With Ronaldo you never know. It depends how fit he will be at the next World Cup,” Betfair ambassador Deco told Express Sport.

“Of course, it’s complicated because there is a time for everyone, even those super fit like him but I think it’s a difficult time for the players.

“It’s complicated when you start watching them at the end of your career but it’s easier to think about showing the best at the World Cup.

“Of course, if you ask every player they want to win the World Cup, they dream about that for sure, Ronaldo is the same.

“I think for all the players it’s a competition, a dream competition, when you think of being a real soccer player.”

    Favourites

He also spoke  about the side he thinks will be the favourites for the World Cup, and noted that there are a couple of sides who are very good – and of course holders Germany were one of them.

Not only that, but Deco noted that it might actually help Portugal to be considered one of the outsiders – and it seems that he also thinks the pressure will be off after the Euros win, given the side have finally won something together and that will of course help the players as well.

“Germany, no question, will be one of the favourites.

“We understand that Portugal are not favourites but it’s good.

“We weren’t favourite in the Europa Cup (Euros 2016) but I think Portugal has a good team

“I can see at this moment, Portugal, Brazil, England, France… for me the same [level].

“Maybe Brazil and Germany a little bit higher difference.

“There was a pressure before [Euro 2016] because Portugal always, almost won something important for the national team.

“And of course Portugal won in 2016 I think the pressure is different now. People, the press, say teams are fearing Portugal and that’s a good thing.”
