Court Remands Senator Jonah Jang In Prison
A State High Court sitting in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, has remanded former governor of Plateau State, Jonah David Jang to prison custody.
The trial judge, Justice Daniel Longji, had denied a bail application by the defendant, through his lawyer, Robert Clarke (SAN).
Justice Longji, in his ruling, adjourned hearing to Thursday 24th May for a bench ruling on bail.
Jang was arraigned on a 12 count charge of alleged corruption and misappropriation of N6.3 billion before he vacated office.
The now Senator representing Plateau North was arraigned alongside Yusuf Pam, a one-time cashier in the office of the Secretary to the State Government who allegedly embezzled N11 million.
When the charges were read, Senator Jang and Pam pleaded not guilty
