    Chelsea legend becomes bookies' favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri as next manager

    - Sarri's men slipped to sixth on the log with 50 points after 26 league matches

    Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has been tipped by bookies to replace Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

    The Blues suffered a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City in super Sunday's Premier League clash at Etihad Stadium.

    Sarri's men after the loss slipped to sixth on the table behind Arsenal with 50 points after 26 league matches.

    The London club have now shipped in 10 goals in their last two EPL matches away from home without scoring a single one.

    Despite an impressive start to the season, the Italian boss is on the verge of missing out of the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

    The former England international is the head coach of Championship side Derby County, who are currently seventh on the table with 50 points after 30 matches.

    With the way they are going, the Rams could gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of this campaign.

    Meanwhile, three-time Champions League winner Zinedine Zidane is another candidate who could be appointed next Blues boss.

    The Frenchman led Real Madrid to back to back to back UCL triumphs in just two and a half seasons in charge at the club.

    Current assistant manager Gianfranco Zola, is also on the list of coaches who has been tipped to handle the club.

    Diego Simeone, Jose Mourinho, Brendan Rodgers, Massimiliano Allegri, Nuno Espirito Santo and Didier Deschamps are among other coaches shortlisted for the job.

    While former Barcelona player and coach Luis Enrique, who is the current Spanish national team boss is also on the list.

    Chelsea's defeat at City was the club's heaviest in close to 30 years in the Premier League history, few weeks after calamitous 4-0 thrashing at Bournemouth at the end of last month.

    Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City thrashed Chelsea 6-0 in one of Sunday's Premier League encounters.

    A Sergio Aguero's hat-trick, while Raheem Sterling's brace and Ilkay Gundogan's lone strike completed the routing.

    The Citizens are now back to the English topflight table with 65 points after 27 games and will hope they can maintain that until the end of the season.
