Brighton & Swansea: Graham Potter’s price tag revealed

    Brighton after Chris Hughton

Chris Hughton became the Premier League’s first casualty of the summer when he was sacked on Monday.

That sacking came a day after Man City won the Premier League title at the Amex Stadium.

It was a rough season for Brighton, who found themselves locked in a relegation dogfight until the final weeks of the season.

Brighton finished the season fourth bottom of the league, with just 36 points from 38 games.

Swansea & Graham Potter’s price tag

According to widespread reports on Tuesday, Brighton have positioned Swansea manager Graham Potter as their number one managerial target.

Potter came to fame in Sweden, where he helped lift Ostersunds into the Allsvenskan.

Moreover, Potter became a household name in England after Ostersunds almost turfed Arsenal out of the 2017-18 Europa League.

In his first season with Swansea, the Welsh side finished in 10th spot in the Championship.

So will Potter now leave Swansea to join Brighton? The Times report the following:

Graham Potter, the Swansea City manager, will be interviewed for the job at Brighton & Hove Albion within the next 24 hours.

How much would Brighton need to pay for Potter? The Times reveal:

(Potter) has two years left on his contract, which is thought to include a compensation clause of £2 million for Swansea.

    What about Phil Neville?

If Potter doesn’t join Brighton, Phil Neville is being mentioned as an alternative option for the Seagulls.

However landing Neville could be tough, as he’s about to lead the England Women’s team in this summer World Cup.
