Arsenal fans were all talking about one player during Man United vs Sevilla

Arsenal’s supporters have taken to social media this evening to plead with the board at their club to move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, following his performance during the opening hour versus Manchester United.

The two sides are currently locked in action at Old Trafford, having played out a 0-0 stalemate in the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie in Spain 3 weeks ago.

Manchester United have been in excellent form since their disappointing showing at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, having earned victories over all of Chelsea, Crystal Palace and, most recently, Liverpool.

Sevilla, meanwhile, have picked up 2 wins and 2 losses from their 4 fixtures since the clash, including a harrowing 5-2 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid and a 2-0 loss to Valencia in their last outing.

The starting XIs of both sides were announced an hour prior to kick-off, with Jose Mourinho having sprung a couple of surprises.

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were seemingly only fit enough for the bench, while Juan Mata and Scott McTominay both dropped out for Jesse Lingard and, controversially, Marouane Fellaini:

Sevilla, meanwhile, lined up as follows:

The opening 45 minutes this evening saw both sides struggle to create clear-cut chances, with Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi the standout performer in a half badly lacking in quality.

Manchester United’s fans were understandably up in arms regarding the flat performance of their side, with the lack of control gained by Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini in the middle of the park particularly noteworthy.

The second-half saw United come out with more intent in attacking areas, but look susceptible to Sevilla on the counter-attack.

However, while most Premier League fans were concentrated on the struggles of Manchester United, Arsenal’s supporters were more focused on the dominant showing of Steven N’Zonzi.

Powerful holding midfielder N’Zonzi was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in January, with the struggles of Granit Xhaka having led the Gunners’ support to urge their club to reignite their chase of the Frenchman in the summer:
