Antonio Conte talks about a possible Chelsea exit after sack rumours

Antonio Conte has been bogged down by sack rumours all season, and now it seems that the Chelsea boss is taking it all in his stride, making it clear that he is contracted to the club for another year, but that in football, as we all know, things can change very suddenly and mean that managers are sacked or players leave clubs.

Chelsea are known for their love of hiring and firing and it seems that the Italian may be another name that’s added to the lengthy list of bosses who get the chop, but for now, he’s just focusing on what he has to do at the club and possibly bringing in players this month.

When asked about his future, Standard Sport report he said: “Everything is possible. I have another year on my contract at this club but, in football, everything is possible. Our job is very difficult because everything can change quickly.”

One player Chelsea have managed to bring in is Ross Barkley, who has suffered injury issues this term, yet Conte is hopeful he will be able to play for the club as soon as possible and bring some much needed creativity to a side who are struggling to score goals at the minute.

“I am clear [about when he’ll play]. I think that, maybe, in the next game against Norwich he could be available and in contention. I hope.

If he continues in this way then why not? He’s not ready 100 per cent but he could start to help us.”

He also spoke about the Alexis Sanchez links, after being seen talking to the player during Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal, and played down any rumours, saying: “I said hello!

He knows very well my admiration for him. It was a good chance to say hello.”
