All of the amazing Romelu Lukaku – Belgium stats following brace vs Tunisia

Romelu Lukaku’s first-half double for Belgium versus Tunisia this afternoon has seen a rake of hugely-impressive statistics regarding the Manchester United hitman’s international goalscoring record come to the fore online.

The two sides are currently locked in action at the Spartak Stadium, with Belgium having come into proceedings as clear favourites to take all 3 points.

The Red Devils earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over Panama in their World Cup opener on Monday, with Tunisia having fallen to a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at the hands of England in their first outing of their tournament.

    Class apart

Unsurprisingly, the opening moments of this afternoon’s matchup saw Belgium take control of proceedings, with Roberto Martinez’s men having taken the lead from the penalty spot through Eden Hazard with just 6 minutes on the clock.

And it was 2-0 just ten minutes later, as Romelu Lukaku found the net for the second game running with a brilliant driven finish into the bottom right-hand corner of Farouk Ben Mustapha’s goal.

The hectic start to proceedings in Moscow continued when Tunisia pulled a goal back through Dylan Bronn with 18 minutes on the clock, but Belgium took back firm control of the game on the stroke of half-time, when a gorgeous reverse pass from Thomas Meunier slipped Lukaku through for an unerring dinked finish.

    On fire

In finding the net once again, Lukaku’s record for Belgium, particularly of late, became even more impressive, with all of the statistics surrounding the Manchester United striker’s goalscoring feats at international level having come to the fore online in the time since:
