    Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has been blasted on social media by football fans for holding his nose in a stand-off with Rennes' star Hamara Traore during the Gunners' Europa League win.

    Alex Iwobi squared off with his opponent Hamara Traore and came off suddenly holding his nose and stumbling backwards.

    The Nigerian football star appeared to have told the Rennes player that his breath smelt after moving away from him immediately.

    Iwobi was then criticized by football fans on social media calling him "unprofessional" and "classless" after the incident at the Emirates stadium.

    Alex Iwobi has been impressive this season in all competitions for the Gunners as his side are also fighting to finish among the top four teams at the end of the season in the Premier League.

    Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Arsenal progressed to the quarter-final round of the Europa League after thrashing Rennes 3-0 on Thursday, March 14, at the Emirates.

    The Gunners came into the contest with a deficit after suffering a 3-1 bashing in the first-leg tie last week in France.

    However, five minutes after hostilities commenced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the opening goal of the match, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles increasing Arsenal lead in the 15th minute after scoring Arsenal second goal.
