Five ministers appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari who tried their lucks at the recently concluded governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in their various states failed to secure tickets due to one reason or the other.
Although, the 5 ministers got President Buhari's blessing to contest in their states, they weren't so much accepted by state leaderships of the party.
Two out of the five ministers were screened out before the primaries while two lost their tickets to candidates supported by the incumbent governors of their states.
Below are the names of the five minsisters and how they lost the APC governorship tickets.

The minister of women affairs, Aisha Jummai Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, Alhassan was also screened out of the primaries in her state. The national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, said Alhassan was screened out over what he tagged as “divided loyalty.”
3. Mustapha Baba Shehuri
The minister of state for power, works and housing, Mustapha Baba Shehuri, was lost the ticket following the endorsement of Professor Babagana Umara-Zulum by Borno state governor Kashim Shettima, Daily Trust reports.

Mansur Dan-Ali, the minister of defense, lost in Zamfara state following the Governor Abdulaziz Yari's endorsement of Shehu Idris. Yari's endorsement of Idis has created a huge controversy in the state and INEC has ordered the APC not to field any candidate from the state for election in 2019.
