Why Man City are unwilling to push boat out for January Sanchez move

    Real reason

It’s been reported on Friday that Manchester City are ready to pull out of a January deal for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and it’s now been revealed why.

The forward is set to leave Arsenal but there were thoughts that the player could move now rather than in the summer.

The Chilean’s contract will come to an end in July and will be able to move to any club on in a free transfer.

Though, it has been reported for a number of weeks that Pep Guardiola’s side were looking to seal a deal early.

Reports suggest that the club were looking to sign the player for £20million but the latest news is that Arsenal want £35million.

That is an incredible amount for a player who will cost nothing in just over six months time.

Though, one report today suggests that transfer money is not the only reason why Man City are unwilling to push the boat out.

    Cash Grab

Another reason is that Alexis is giving Manchester City officials the impression he is more interested in money than ‘glory’.

There is no doubt that the player would earn an extremely large amount of money at the Etihad but there could be more to that.

With Sanchez’ interest in the finances, Man City feel they are unwilling to push the boat out to sign the player now.

So while the fee is not ideal, City would likely have paid it if Alexis’ attitude was more geared towards the good of the club.
