Tottenham’s £85m shopping list for three stars

    Tottenham target three players

Spurs begin their Premier League campaign on Sunday with an away trip to Newcastle.

The Tottenham XI looks set to be very familiar, after the Lillywhites remain the only top flight club yet to make a signing this summer.

Kyle Walker has left the club to join Man City.

With less than three weeks left in the summer window, the Star have reported on Sunday that Tottenham may finally be ready to enter the market.

The tabloid, who have a shoddy history is getting transfer rumours right, links Tottenham will three possible signings.

    The most likely

Top of the shopping list is Ajax centre-half Davidson Silva.

The Colombian made a name for himself in the Europa League final, where he was undoubtedly the star player for the Dutch side.

21-year-old Silva missed Ajax’s match on Saturday in Holland amid claims he’s about to sign for Spurs. The tabloid report:

Dutch sources have told the Daily Star Sunday that Holland’s top club were prepared to sell him for £22.6m.

But with transfer fees escalating, Ajax could now demand £35m.

    Two other targets

Aside from Silva, Spurs are again linked to Everton’s Ross Barkley and Valencia’s Joao Cancelo.

Barkley has been a long term target for Tottenham, although Spurs have yet to lodge a bid.

Chelsea have also been tipped to hijack the deal with Everton.

The main update in the Star is the claim “Barkley, 23, remains the top target for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and he still hopes that a £30m deal can be agreed before the transfer window closes.”

As for Cancelo, the 23-year-old defender is listed as having a £20m price tag.
