Three of the 17 detained suspects in Kim Kardashian’s Paris Fashion Week robbery case have been released, including her Paris driver.
Their release was confirmed by the Paris prosecutor’s office on Wednesday (Jan. 11, 2017) following the raid in France on Monday (Jan. 9, 2017) wherein 17 suspects, ranging in age between 23 and 73, were swept up for questioning by French police. According to the French prosecutor involved in the case, those who were detained could only be held for up to 96 hours of questioning before a decision had to be made on their involvement in the case.
The suspects were questioned about the theft of $10 million in cash and jewels that were robbed from Kardashian’s hotel room in October while she was held at gunpoint.
Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ that Parisian officials told Kardashian’s legal team that it’s almost certain that she’ll never see her 20-karat emerald-cut stone diamond ring from Kanye West ever again. Police say that diamonds that size are “immediately shipped off to Antwerp’s diamond district in Belgium and then quickly disappear.”
On an insurance claim following the robbery, Kardashian listed the ring’s worth as $4 million, or 40% of the sum of her losses.
The KIMOJI mogul continues to share family photos on her social media accounts following her return to Twitter, Instagram, and her app/website. On Tuesday (Jan. 10, 2017), Kardashian posted a sweet snapshot of West and their son Saint and captioned it with the phrase, “My boys.”
