Tabloids accused of lying in Chelsea v Burnley match reports

    Chelsea 2 – Burnley 3

Despite Antonio Conte’s warning, are Chelsea going to have a “Jose Mourinho season” after all?

The Blues crashed back down to earth on the opening day of the season, losing 3-2 at home to Burnley.

Burnley, after selling Michael Keane and Andre Gray, have been tipped by many for relegation.

But, at halftime on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, Sean Dyche’s side were 3-nil up. Sam Vokes scored a double while Stephene Ward smashed home a stunner.

Alvaro Morata changed the game in the second half. The sub beat Tom Heaton with a header, before he teed up David Luiz for a second.

Chelsea had Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas sent off in the defeat.

    Tabloids accused of lying

Following the match, Chelsea fans called out several of the English tabloid for lying.

The Sun, Mail and Express all reported Chelsea fans “booed” their players at the full time whistle.

But rather than turning on their own, the Chelsea crowd were booing the match officials.

Is anyone really shocked about how the tabloids twisted the facts for their own ends?

    Chelsea fans argue

It’s worth noting that some Chelsea fans did believe supporters booed their own.

However the consensus opinion is that the fans got behind the team.
