Rio Ferdinand tells Mourinho who he wants to see up top for Man United

    Lethal front three

Rio Ferdinand has a long history with Manchester United and has won a great deal with the club, and now after establishing himself as a pundit for BT Sport, he has been speaking about the United front line.

There’s a wealth of talent for Jose Mourinho to pick from both in terms of a main forward and also on the flanks, and that’s before Zlatan Ibrahimovic has even come back into the mix after signing a new deal and making huge progress recovering from injury.

Ferdinand said on BT Sport: “If you look at it from a defender’s perspective, Rashford gives them those legs behind.

“He runs behind defences and makes you look over your shoulder.

“It’s a scary thought. Lukaku does the same.

“There is a relationship developing between those two under Mourinho – with [Anthony] Martial as well.

“I want to see Martial, Rashford and Lukaku together on the pitch.

“There’s pace, drive and desire to get goals as well between them. It’s exciting times.”

    World class

There’s no denying Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a proven name on the world stage, and it seems that Lukaku is someone who will be considered one of the best forwards in Europe to boot is his Champions League debut is anything to go by, not to mention his form since moving to Man United.

Rashford has shown he can cut it at the highest level for England and Man United – and when you throw Martial into the mix, it’s clear United have the ability and the experience to win titles – not to mention the youth on their side that will help them when it comes to developing in the future as well – something Mourinho has claimed the team needed to do when he arrived after being stuck in time since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
