Ricky Sbragia to become a Man United manager

    Ricky Sbragia & Man United

Links between Man United and Sunderland are back on the agenda on Monday morning amid reports that Ricky Sbragia could become a Man United manager.

Sbragia became a household name in England in the 2008-9 Premier League season when he took charge of Sunderland.

More recently, the Red Devils and Black Cats have been linked as David Moyes managed both clubs, while Adnan Januzaj, who seems poised to leave Old Trafford this summer, spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light.

    What’s the story?

Sbragia has worked at Man United before.

Back in 2002 he was the reserve team coach at Carrington, where he worked with the likes of Kieran Richardson and Darren Fletcher.

Later, he replaced Man United icon Roy Keane as the manager of Sunderland, while he managed to keep the Black Cats in the EPL on the final day of the season.

Fast forwarding to the present, and the BBC’s Simon Stone has revealed that Sbragia is in line to become the under-23 coach at Man United.

Warren Joyce previously held that position, before he left the club last November.
