Phil Neville talks up Alexis Sanchez to Man United

    Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United should make a move for Alexis Sanchez according to  Phil Neville, who thinks that £25 million would be a steal for a player who has shown such quality during his time in the Premier League.

Alexis is of course leaving Arsenal and with recent reports suggesting the Man City deal could well be off, there seems to be a chance for Man United to land the player – unless he’s willing to wait until the summer and then leave on a free and join up with Pep Guardiola, the one thing he’s seemed to want throughout the whole transfer debacle.

Standard Sport report Neville said: “If you look back at Man Utd’s big signings over the decades, Cantona came out of the hat, Van Persie was a surprise, and they both helped United win titles.

“I think this could have a similar impact. He’s got the character to play at Old Trafford.

“It would be a coup, particularly for United fans, to have a player like Sanchez potentially come to them over City. It would be a strong statement.

“It’s pretty obvious he’s not going to stay at Arsenal.

“I think if United were going to buy him, £25m would be an absolute snip.”

    Battle

The battle for Alexis is just one that is going on this winter, and it seems that Theo Walcott could well be on his way to Everton, who are outfoxing Southampton in the battle to sign him, with Sam Allardyce even claiming that the two clubs are in talks – although Wenger noted that a deal is some way off.

That being said, Arsenal will not stand in the players way if he does want to leave in order to boost his chances of playing for England at the World Cup this summer in Russia.
