Pep Guardiola names his favourite Premier League side

    Spurs

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is riding high on his Premier League win and has spoken to Sky Sports about how good his side have been this season – and about the other teams in the top flight as well.

He said on Monday Night Football that teams such as Spurs are the ones he really likes to play against – and made a quip about Klopp and Liverpool causing him issues, something they’ve done to a huge extent this season.

“Since the beginning I enjoy playing Tottenham. I like a lot how they play. Liverpool is magnificent. I suffer against Jurgen Klopp in Germany. The transition to attack inside is so quick. They learnt a lot from last season.

“Last season Chelsea were outstanding. We learned about playing five at the back, the movement. I think a lot of teams copy Antonio Conte teams.

“Of course Jose [Mourinho] is always a huge competitor. His teams, how they convince them to be their teams, I admire the big quality teams and the qualities they have.

“I like Crystal Palace with [Wilfried] Zaha and other players. I enjoy watching football and different teams and the players they have.”

    Next season

Going into next season, City obviously want to defend their title and making sure they are the ones at the top of the table in England and also pushing on in Europe will require a huge amount of work – and Guardiola knows that.

The club aren’t planning to rest on their laurels in the summer either, and will bring in more players, something that will no doubt scare the rest of the Premier League considering City are miles ahead of anything in England at this point already, and Guardiola is exercising caution when he speaks about new players and how City must keep a level head come next season and have the same ambition.
