Juventus star reveals which 2 PL clubs he has rejected

Juventus star Miralem Pjanic has today revealed the pair of Premier League clubs that he turned down in the past, ahead of his side’s meeting with Tottenham tonight.

    Matchup

The return of the Champions League this week and next will see some mouthwatering fixtures played out, with Juventus’ clash with English outfit Tottenham garnering plenty of attention around Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs looked extremely impressive on their way to topping a group that featured both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund late last year, while Juventus, Champions League finalists in 2 of the last 3 seasons, finished runners-up to runaway La Liga leaders Barcelona in their own group.

    North London snubs

Speaking in an interview with the Telegraph ahead of tonight’s crunch tie in Turin, Bianconeri midfielder Miralem Pjanic was questioned on the rumours that he once turned down the opportunity to join Tottenham, after the capital outfit had attempted to bring the Bosnian international to London following Luka Modric’s move to Real Madrid.

And Pjanic, widely regarded as one of the finest deep-lying midfielders on the planet, admitted as much, also revealing past interest from another of the Premier League’s biggest clubs:

‘You want to know the names? They were Arsenal and Tottenham.’

‘There was the opportunity but at that moment I told them I was happy where I was and that’s why we didn’t sign the deal.’

‘But I made my choice using my head and if I made that choice not to go to an English team it was for good reasons.’
