JAMB: Candidate arrested with arms at exam center in Nasarawa
The National Security and Defence Service Corps NSCDC, have arrested a 21-year-old candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), for possession of a dangerous weapon inside one of the examination centers in Nasarawa state.
Daily Post reports that the young man was arrested with a locally made pistol and two rounds of live ammunition.
While confirming the arrest, the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bashir Lawal-Kano, said the suspect during interrogation, admitted that the weapon had been given to him for safe keeping.
He added that the suspect would be charged to court for illegal possession of arms.
