How Maja Nilsson reacted to Victor Lindelof being dropped v West Ham

    Man United v West Ham

Jose Mourinho once again surprised many Man United fans with his opening day line-up against West Ham on Sunday.

Man United’s starting XI and subs were as follows:

Starting XI: De Gea, Valencia (c), Bailly, Jones, Blind, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Rashford.

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Fellaini, Herrera, Lingard, Martial.

That meant that summer signing Victor Lindelof wasn’t in the match squad at all.

    Negative reviews in America

Victor Lindelof received negative reviews during United’s pre-season tour in America.

The former Benfica defender will likely be remembered for his horrible tackle on Theo Hernandez which gave Real Madrid a penalty in their friendly.

But that wasn’t his only error. Lindelof was also at fault for two goals against the LA Galaxy, while he also fluffed his penalty in the shootout versus Los Blancos.

    He’s not injured

In the build up to the West Ham game, BBC journalist Simon Stone confirmed that Lindelof is not injured.

That suggests that Jose Mourinho has simply decided to leave him out for tactical reasons.

Is the Special One already regretting the signing?

    How Maja Nilsson reacted

At the same time that Man United team sheet circulated, Lindelof’s other half, Maja Nilsson, posted an update on social media.

She was sitting in a box in Old Trafford, wearing a Man united shirt and drinking alcohol.

Her message read: This is where you’ll find me from now on.
