Everton suffer massive injury blow, could move for cover

Everton may have to move for yet another signing this summer as it is revealed that defender Ramiro Funes Mori has suffered a serious injury.

The Argentine was likely to play a vital role in the Everton squad this coming season with the inclusion of Europa League football.

Now, according to the Times’ Paul Joyce, the club may choose to go in for a left-sided defender as cover for the injured Mori.

Everton are already one of the most active teams in the Premier League and are still likely to invest further.

Moves for several players have been mooted but with the possible inclusion of another defender to their list, they could well break the £150m barrier.

The Toffees have already spent close to £100m but the sale of Romelu Lukaku for a supposed £90m takes away from the clubs ambitious moves.

    Everton’s £50m Sigurdsson move

Ronald Koeman and Everton are continuing their assault on Swansea for playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelandic midfielder has been in the crosshairs of the Merseysiders all summer and they could be closing in on their man.
