Everton boss Ronald Koeman gives update on Ross Barkley’s future

    No clearer

Ronald Koeman has explained that it is not yet clear whether Everton star Ross Barkley will sign a new deal at the club as Arsenal and Spurs circle.

The Englishman was at the centre of speculation during the entirety of last season and it is safe to say it will not be going away anytime soon.

Barkley was left at home for the clubs trip to Tanzania due to what the club cited as an injury problem.

Though, speaking after Everton’s 2-1 win over Gor Mahia, Koeman has explained that Barkley’s future is ‘not clear’.

“At the moment it is not a clear situation,” Koeman explained.

“He is not fit, that’s the reason he didn’t travel with the team.

“We will see when he is fit and back, but everybody knows his situation, and we will see what will happen.”

    Everton line up £50m move

Safe to say, Ronald Koeman and co are not waiting around for Ross Barkley’s decision.

The side are ready to buy his replacement and they are confident of landing the player for what could be £50m.
