Crystal Palace pre-season fixtures: Complete summer tour and match schedule

    Frank de Boer Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are under new management. After the shock resignation of Sam Allardyce following the conclusion of last season, the Eagles took the bold step of appointing former Ajax boss Frank de Boer.

Handed a three-year contract, De Boer is, many would say, the antithesis to Allardyce, and his appointment holds no shortage of intrigue.

A manager who focuses on youth and developing his own stars, De Boer will run the rule over his squad in pre-season, with Palace facing a mixture of opponents ahead of their Premier League curtain-raiser in August.

Goal takes a look at their upcoming fixtures.

The Eagles will kick off proceedings at the humble home of National League Maidstone United, as they take on a Stones team celebrating their fifth year at the Gallagher Stadium.

Palace will then jet to Hong Kong to take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy. De Boer’s men will join Liverpool, Leicester and West Brom in the Far East, as the four teams vie for supremacy.

Fixtures have been confirmed and Palace will take on Jurgen Klopp’s Reds on Wednesday July 19, with the winner to then go on to face the victors in the Foxes’ clash with the Baggies’. The two losers will play in a third-place play-off.

Continuing to clock up air miles, Palace will subsequently fly to France to take on Metz, who finished 14th in Ligue 1 last season.

Finally, Palace will take on Schalke at Selhurst Park, in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

Palace open their Premier League season with a potential banana skin, as they face newly-promoted Huddersfield Town at Selhurst Park on August 12.

Town won the Championship play-off final against Reading at Wembley and will hope to claim a prize scalp on their first day back in the top-flight.

De Boer’s side will then face familiar opponents, meeting Liverpool at Anfield in a more competitive re-run of their Asia Trophy friendly.
