Chelsea to beat Newcastle 2-1 is 8/1 with Paddy Power

Last season’s finalists Chelsea will be looking to put their midweek defeat behind them.

Hovering just one point above the relegation zone, Sunday’s game is unlikely to be a priority for Newcastle.

Chelsea vs Newcastle: FA Cup Fourth Round preview

Chelsea host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday for their Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie.

Sunday’s clash pits Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez against his old club.

Chelsea were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage on Wednesday, losing their second-leg match 2-1 at Arsenal. Eden Hazard opened the scoring before the Gunners turned things around.

Wednesday’s defeat ended the Blues’ 12-match unbeaten run.

Antonio Conte’s side were held to two draws by Championship side Norwich in the previous round of the FA Cup, before winning the replay in a penalty shootout.

Will Newcastle take this FA Cup tie seriously?

Newcastle eased into the fourth round with a 3-1 win over League Two side Luton earlier this month. Ayoze Perez scored a brace before Jonjo Shelvey added Newcastle’s third.

The Toon lie just one point above the Premier League relegation zone following last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

Chelsea have already beaten Newcastle once this season when the two sides met in the Premier League in December. Dwight Gayle opened the scoring before goals from Hazard (2) and Alvaro Morata handed Chelsea a 3-1 win.
