Antonio Conte & Jurgen Klopp: Updates on quit threats

    Chelsea & Liverpool

Two of the favourites for this season’s Premier League title race, Liverpool and Chelsea, both failed to win on Saturday.

Chelsea undoubtedly had the worse result.

Facing Burnley at home, the Blues suffered a shock 3-2 defeat, while Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas were both sent off.

The reigning champs could now face a battle to register their first win, with games coming up against Tottenham and Everton.

As for Liverpool, they conceded a 94th minute goal at Watford in a 3-3 draw.

That result showed how the Reds still have major problems at the back, while rumours swirl that Philippe Coutinho is leaving.

Who will be the first managerial casualty of the new season?

Over the weekend, rumours have been circling that Antonio Conte and/or Jurgen Klopp could leave their respective posts.

On the Chelsea boss, Conte is the new favourite to be sacked first according to Ladbrokes.

After an incredible season opener against Burnley which saw the Blues lose 2-3, punters have piled into the next manager to leave market, and it’s now just 7/2 Conte is the first to be axed or walk.

Despite having only played one game, Chelsea’s odds of winning the title now drift out to 11/2, with the Manchester City (6/4) and United (3/1) ahead of them.

    But what about Klopp?

Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce has addressed the fear mongering on Sunday. He’s claimed there is “no chance” Klopp quits as Liverpool boss anytime soon.
